🔵 🔴 🟡 Course description

The purpose of the course is to study the relationship between arts and markets. Through the economics of culture and economic sociology, a series of questions are approached, such as: Is the aesthetic pleasure of the viewer as well as the creativity of the artist an economic value? What is the role of culture in the economy of Greece? How can the cultural sector become an agent of sustainable development in modern capitalist societies?

Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to:

  • describe aspects of the relationship between arts and markets

  • describe factors that influence the formation of economic values

  • design a business plan

  • apply the economics of culture

  • analyse the role of the creative/cultural industries in the development of the economy
